HIGH-RISK B-O-T PLAYERS, A EUROPEAN CLUB
European contractors view build-operate-transfer (B-O-T) contracts as necessary in winning international work. Dwindling public budgets are leading Europe's corporate officials to the more expensive B-O-T process. This article describes the B-O-T process, highlights some successful and unsuccessful B-O-T ventures, and comments on the inherent risks associated with B-O-T contracts.
