NEW THREATS CHALLENGE CURRENT ORTHODOXIES
Air terrorism appears to be in decline as, post-Lockerbie, new security technology and procedures, intelligence-gathering and tougher anti-terrorism policies have been brought in to defend aircraft and airports from terrorist attack. This article looks at the various extremist groups and their methods, and the reasons for their attacks on civilian airlines.
