NSRP CONTINUES STUDY OF SHIP MAINTENANCE
This article is an overview of the current research being conducted under the auspices of the National Shipbuilding Research Program. Current research projects focus on the maintenance and coatings of ships. Specifically, the topics include using surface-tolerant coatings, quality in maintenance work, reducing spent abrasives in blasting, controlling air-borne dust, recycling, and abrasive containment systems. Future research priorities are outlined.
