BUILDING BETTER BUSES
Newer technologies are driving sweeping changes in the ways buses are made. This 12-page report, featuring new and more efficient designs from key manufacturers, examines how the bus industry is putting these changes on the road. There are some other technologies that look promising for better buses in the future, but for space reasons, the coverage has been limited to the four chief design trends: low floor, electric, hybrid, and alternative-fuel buses. Intended as an overview and not a complete listing of current manufacturing and design activity, fourteen representative bus manufacturers were contacted for this report.
