ROAD ACCIDENT STATISTICS ENGLISH REGIONS: 1994

This report gives charts and tables of road accident statistics for different localities of England for 1994 and several preceding years (depending on specific statistics). It is a supplement to "Road Accidents Great Britain 1994 - The Casualty Report", thus includes only selected national statistics for England as a whole, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Great Britain, and the UK. The charts give the following 1994 statistics for the nine regions of England: (1) fatal, serious and slight casualties; (2) child and adult casualties; (3) percentage change in casualties from 1993; (4) casualties on built-up and non built-up roads by severity and by road class (motorway, trunk A, principal A); and (5) accidents by road class. Casualties are tabulated by region and severity for 1981-85 average and for 1987-1994. There are tables of 1994 (sometimes also 1981-85 average) statistics by county and type of road user: (1) number of casualties; (2) total casualty rates; (3) casualty indicators. There is a table of accidents by region and county, road class and severity, for 1981-85 average, 1993 and 1994. Various other tables, including monthly accident rates for 1994, are given. There is a fairly detailed commentary on the tables and charts.
