The bibliography contains citations concerning design, development, and testing of collision avoidance systems involving cockpit displays to alert pilots of conflicting traffic. Three basic approaches are covered in the citations. The first is a Traffic Alert and Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) operating between aircraft equipped with compatible systems. The second is a Beacon Collision Avoidance System (BCAS) which interfaces with FAA traffic controllers, and which makes use of the active mode of the Air Traffic Control Radar Beacon System (ATCRBS). The third system is the Cockpit Display of Traffic Information (CDTI) which is derived from the TCAS-2 system.
