MONITORING AND LIMITATION SYSTEMS OF FIRE PRODUCTS GENERATION OF FIRE ON A SHIP

Total elimination of smoke emission from materials while maintaining other safe parameters of their fire resistance is impossible to attain in practice. Application of fire-proofing substances causes an increase in resistance of materials, but increases the intensity of smoke and toxic fumes emissions during their thermal decomposition and combustion. There is a need for a reasonable compromise between fire proof materials and their smoke and toxic fumes emission. A solution to the problem of smoke and toxic danger due to fire in a ship's compartments and methods of monitoring and control of the process of fire products propagation over the ship is discussed.
