MICROWAVE CURING OF CHOCKS CAST IN EPY COMPOUND FOR USE IN SHIPBOARD MACHINERY SEATINGS

The paper presents a new method of curing chocks cast in EPY pourable compound by the use of microwaves. It also specifies the outcome of tests conducted with EPY specimens and with full-scale chocks cast in the compound and cured by the use of microwaves. The method considerably reduces chock curing time, enforces economy in the use of energy and improves the strength properties of the chocks compared to chocks cured by the conventional method of thermal post heating.
