A NEW SMALL SHIPYARD-ORIENTED VERSION OF THE ASTER SYSTEM

Small shipyards and ship design organizations which cannot afford to buy comprehensive CAD/CAM systems often use a combination of standard software tools. This is a time consuming way of preparing the production documentation. The paper outlines a proposed hull design and preparation process in small shipyards, practical examples of the ASTER v.3.1 applications and a few words on the hardware requirements for a single station or LAN.
