FATIGUE DAMAGE CONSIDERING WHIPPING ARISING FROM SLAMMING

In this paper the authors outline and summarize the results of a study to develop a new integrated procedure for obtaining the statistics of the combined slamming and wave-induced stress response and resulting fatigue damage, accounting for phasing, hog- sag non-linearities, clustering, and hull flexibility. Example calculations for a vessel are given.
