QUALITY MANAGEMENT FOR OFFSHORE PROJECTS

This paper looks at the practical aspects of quality management systems for offshore projects from both the operators and the contractors point of view. It examines the progress made from the early days of 'hands on' management by the client to the more 'hands off' approach that exists today. In the present industry where cost saving is paramount to developing UK oil and gas projects beyond 2000, a review is made of the initiatives that are taking place and the contribution made by quality management.
