A BOOST FROM THE DEEP
A problem commonly encountered in the production of remote deepwater fields are low reservoir drives. These may necessitate some form of pressure boosting to achieve flow to surface production facilities. A new subsea processing system has been developed which utilises separation and conventional pump technology to achieve production boosting. A recent feasibility study has shown that such a system could be successfully deployed and operated in 1000 water depths.
