SOLID BOUNDARY FACTORS FOR THE AFTERBODY OF AN LNG CARRIER

Measurements of hull surface pressure at positions from just above the propeller and 2.5D forward of propeller plane were performed. The recordings were analysed, and the pressure amplitudes of the four lowest orders of blade frequency are presented together with corresponding phase angles. The induced pressure amplitude due to global and local vibration of afterbody are estimated and compared with the standard deviation of the measured values. The free pressure field at the positions of the transducers is calculated and compared with the measurements. Solid boundary factors which are found to be a function of both distance from propeller and frequency of the pressure amplitudes are then established.
