MORYE OLYMPIA HYDROFOIL COMPLETES FIRST YEAR OF SERVICE

The Morye Olympia hydrofoil design is described. The hydrofoil is designed for operation on routes in open seas up to 50 miles from a port of refuge or up to 100 miles in land locked seas and large lakes, with a permissible distance between two ports of refuge up to 200 miles. A foilborne speed of 37 knots can be maintained in conditions up to Force 3 or Sea State 2 and the Olympia is capable of maintaining normal service in up to Force 56 conditions and waveheights of up to 2.5m-3.0m. A general arrangement drawing of the Olympia design is given.
