MEASUREMENT OF WAKE DISTRIBUTIONS BEHIND SHIPS WITH YAW ANGLE

This paper presents the results of the measured wake distributions of three ship models (Wigley, cargo liner and tanker hull) with yaw angle. The velocities on the cross section were measured including the propeller plane by a propeller type velocimeter with a diameter of 3mm and it was shown that there are clear differences of wake distributions and of nominal wake fractions among the three ship hulls.
