ECONOMIC ANALYSIS OF A SHIP POWER PLANT

To evaluate the performance of a marine engine a comprehensive approach based on the principles of techno-economy is advocated. Following a survey of the external and internal factors which affect both the production and operating costs, the authors proposed to use life cycle cost as the criterion for evaluation. To achieve the optimal economic effect, technical design, policy decision and management measures are equally important.
