The combined passenger, rail and car ferry POLONIA has been delivered by Norwegian shipbuilder Langsten Slip & Batbyggeri AS. The ferry, said to be the largest of her type in the world, is owned by Polonia Line Ltd and operated by Unity Line based in Szczecin, Poland. The principal particulars of the vessel are: propulsion 4 x Stork Wartsila 6 SW 38 length, overall 169.90m length, between perpendiculars 156.00m breadth, moulded 28.00m depth, to main (rail) deck 8.65m draught, design 5.90m tonnage, gross register 29 875 tonnage, net 11,320 tonnage, deadweight 18 140t speed, trial 17 knots total lane length (2 decks) 2200m simultaneous capacity - rail wagons/trailers/cars 740/750/860m
