NUMERICAL ANALYSIS OF RANKINE SOURCE COLLOCATION METHOD FOR THE STEADY WAVE MAKING RESISTANCE PROBLEM

The so called previous collocation technique which was applied to satisfy the wave radiation condition in the Rankine source method, has often induced some instable conditions to solve the steady wave making problems for commercial ships. The problems have prevented the use of the collocation method in practical hull form design. In this paper, the author discusses the instability problems caused by the Rankine source collocation methods and attempts to overcome the problems.
