PORTGARTH; DAMEN AZIMUTH STERN DRIVE TUG 3110 FOR BRISTOL PORT

The tug PORTGARTH, built by Damen Shipyards, the Netherlands for Cory Towage Ltd, UK left for its home port of Bristol in the UK on the 31st March 1995. Anticipated growth in the bulk cargo and car carrier trades at the Royal Portbury Dock almost certainly means a significant increase in traffic requiring the assistance of powerful and efficient tugs. The 30,7 metre tug features a bollard pull of 46 tonnes over the bow and 49.5 tonnes over the stern both at maximum continuous rating. Speed ahead is 13.49 knots and speed astern 12.9 knots. A general arrangement drawing of the tug is included in the article.
