FATIGUE AND OVERLOAD RELIABILITY OF OFFSHORE STRUCTURAL SYSTEMS, CONSIDERING THE EFFECT OF INSPECTION AND REPAIR

A review is presented of the most common reliability methods applied today, both from a component and system reliability point of view. A system reliability formulation in which the whole system is described by a single continuous limit state function is provided. Correlations are properly accounted for. Three structural systems are investigated: a TLP tether systems, a catenary mooring system for a stationary located storage tanker, and a pipeline for transport of oil and gas from the field to the shore.
