THE PROBABILITY DISTRIBUTION OF ROLLING AMPLITUDE OF A SHIP IN HIGH WAVES
The probability distribution function of the rolling amplitude of a ship with S-type stability curve in high waves is derived by using the stochastic averaging method. Some results of different S type stability curves and damping are presented and discussed. The influence of shipping water on the probability distribution is demonstrated using time domain numerical simulation.
