Computer Assisted Trawl Simulation (CATS) is computer software used to generate a numerical model of a trawl, perform a computer simulation and help the user to get the information he wants. The simulation process can be initiated by specifying the trawling speed, warp distance at the vessel and the actual depth. Tensions and distances which are used repeatedly to check the influence of alterations in rigging, towing speed or water depth can be gathered in a table.
