FINDHORN: NO PICNIC SITE FOR HIGH-LIFT STEEL ERECTORS

Brief details are given of progress made on the Findhorn bridge site on the line of the new A9 24km south of Inverness. The concrete twin piers and abutments are founded on steel h-piles. Formwork is being lifted into place ready for a 180 cubic metres continuous pumped-concrete pour. The road surface will be blacktop on a minimum-250mm-thick concrete deck, acting compositely with the main beams and cross girders. /TRRL/
