ANALYSIS OF FREE VIBRATIONS OF STRUCTURES IN FLUID

The problem of vibrations of cylinders due to the loading by water waves in the transverse direction is still open. The measured displacements are complex functions in time. For the analysis of the measured data it is important to identify the parameters of the experimental set-up. The mathematical model, theoretical formulation and computer program have been prepared for identification of the parameters. The Kalman Filter Method was used to decompose the measured displacements into modes of free vibrations. The theoretical consideration and some results are presented in the paper.
