NORASIA HONG KONG: CONTINUING THE HATCHCOVERLESS THEME

The 2,780TEU hatchcoverless containership NORASIA HONG KONG is fitted with lightweight rain shelters over all but the first two, and aftermost, of her eight cargo holds. Nos 1 and 2 holds are closed by conventional pontoons for safety reasons, and to enable them to carry dangerous goods. The shelters, which are secured by twistlocks to drain channels fitted to the top of extended container cell-guides, can be quickly removed, and are designed to cope with ingress of water from monsoon rains. General arrangement drawings are included in the article.
