FATIGUE LIFE AT SIMULTANEOUS BENDING, TENSION AND COMPRESSION

The paper deals with fatigue life and safety factor of constructional members subjected to combined loads in synchronous bending and compression-tension. It is assumed that amplitudes of stress components are constant and that the phase shift between bending moment and push-pull force is 0 or pi. The formulae for calculation of the number of cycles to failure and of the safety factor are derived.
