The development is described of a spot-speed dataa collection, evaluation and plotting program called SPEEDY. A self-coding radar speed check field sheet is used by the traffic technician to record the spot-speed data. This data is then transfered tocomputer cards, which are then processed by the computer to produce the printed and plotted output sheet. The various percentile speeds may then be picked from the graph. The generalized flow chart of the computer program is written in Fortan IV. The program requires approximately 22 seconds of elapsed clock time per speed check to execute. The program could be modified for use on-line to evaluate one spot-speed check.
