This article looks at the ways in which the Greater Bridgeport Regional Planning Agency (GBRPA) in Connecticut evaluated commuter data using GIS software. Steps for identifying potential commuters using Atlas-GIS were: (1) Import survey information; (2) Geocode work site; (3) Place work site in point layer; (4) GIS generates distance rings; (5) Overlay rings onto a zip code map; (6) Create intersections of distance rings and zip code areas;
