DEDUCTIVE DATABASES FOR TRANSPORT ENGINEERING

This paper shows how the data management needs of transport applications can be addressed by using deductive database management systems (DBMSs). These systems extend traditional DBMSs by permitting the definition of inference rules, default rules, flexible data structures and integrity constraints. Facilities such as these make convenient the development and enhancement of raw data.
