ASPHALT RECLAIMING `EXPLODES' ONTO SCENE IN TWIN CITIES SUBURBS
Reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) is replacing virgin aggregates as pavement base material in Minnesota's suburbs. RAP has been shown to be cost effective when compared to virgin aggregates and the material meets state specifications. This article describes the reclaiming process and the equipment used to pulverize and reclaim the material. RAP projects in Oak Park Heights, Minnesota, and Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, are highlighted.
