DETERMINATION OF SILICA-FUME CONTENT IN HARDENED CONCRETE BY AC IMPEDANCE SPECTROSCOPY

Researchers found that silica fume content significantly influences the impedance behavior of hydrated portland cement concrete, based on the application of a nondestructive method to hydrated portland cement concrete. AC impedance spectroscopy was applied in this study of the electrical behavior of hydrated portland cement concrete containing silica fume. Correlations between the high frequency arc diameter and the silica-fume content in concrete were determined. Empirical relationships for concrete binders at early and more advanced hydration were established.
