NEW DANISH DRAFT STANDARD SPECIFICATION FOR CONCRETE AGGREGATES

FORSLAG TIL NY DANSKNORMFOR BETONTILSLAGSMATERIALER

In this draft standard, requirements are defined by using modern statistical terminology similar to that used in the Danish standard for reinforced concrete. This is believed, however, to cause certain difficulties in connection with tests. Stress is put on uniformity, a parameter generally recognised as important. Uniformity is to be specified by the producers. The composition of coarse aggregates is described in terms of density. The quantity of particles having densities less than or equal to 2,500 kg/m3 is considered to be a parameter which furnishes information on the quality of the coarse aggregate. According to their percentage of low-weight particles, aggregates are classified into four types. Finally, this draft standard contains rules for quality control which are also in conformity with principles stated in related Danish standards. /TRRL/
