VACUUM CONCRETE WITH IMPROVED IMPERVIOUSNESS AGAINST ORGANIC FLUIDS

Concrete often serves as a barrier material, even though it is a porous material. Tests were conducted to reveal the effect of vacuum treatment with respect to the imperviousness of plain concrete. The tests clearly indicate a low water-cement ratio, combined with vacuum treatment, leads to the best result. Quantitative and qualitative results are presented.
