OPTIMAL TECHNOLOGY OF TUNNEL CONSTRUCTION
This paper considers the optimisation of stresses in the construction of a tunnel lining which is built up in stages. Where layers are constructed with a time delay in order to obtain the optimal stress distribution, the computation of stress state in a new layer must take into consideration stresses in the rock and previous layers. This is introduced into the computation by means of eigenstrains or internal strains. Similarly the prestresses of anchors are introduced by eigenstresses or internal stresses. The behaviour of the system is studied using a simplified axisymmetric layered hollow cylinder. For the covering abstract see IRRD 873901.
