Based on the research synthesis and user requirements results, a draft older driver handbook is being developed. The handbook will include major chapters with applicable findings and design recommendations for; Intersections (at-grade), Interchanges (grade separation), Horizontal and Vertical Curvature, and Construction/Work Zones. Included within each chapter will be a discussion of the background and scope of the recommendations. Each chapter will also include recommendations. Each chapter will also include recommendations for specific roadway features, for example, exit signing, lighting issues, and exit ramp gore delineation within the Interchange chapter. The handbook is envisioned to supplement other handbooks used in the field with specific guidelines for older driver applications.
