DRIVER SLEEPINESS AND ACCIDENT RATE

The researchers conducted a study on the effects of progressive sleep deprivation on simulation driving performance in the laboratory to assess the rate of accidents and changes in driving performance resulting from sleepiness. This paper reports on the effects of progressive sleepiness on off-road accidents measured with the two simulators during afternoon driving performance tests, as well as on questionnaire data collected immediately following these driving sessions.
