HOUSEHOLD TRAVEL SURVEYS: NEW CONCEPTS AND RESEARCH NEEDS

The author of this speech, which appears in a compendium of conference papers, describes the events of a conference on the use of household travel surveys. Working group discussions focused on non-response, stated response, survey methods, data collection instruments, and new technologies. Conference participants generated a list of recommended research, which were categorized as synthesis projects, controlled comparative experiments, exploratory research, and evaluation of techniques.
