INTEGRATING TRANSPORTATION TO MANAGE CONGESTION

This abstract, which appears in a compendium of conference papers, summarizes a study on how to reduce automobile dependence through integration of transportation modes, including transit, cycling, walking, and automobile use. The authors report that integration must occur at the legislative and administrative levels of government for all transportation initiatives, and stakeholders from both public and private sectors must be involved.
