THE POTENTIAL OF AN ALTERNATIVE LOAD CONTROL CONCEPT FOR SI ENGINES
One of the biggest disadvantages of SI engines is the quantitative load control by throttle. Two alternative concepts for load control are presented in this paper: volume control and thermal control. The potential concerning the reduction in fuel consumption and pollutant emissions as well as their respective disadvantages are shown. For the covering abstract see IRRD 873243.
