BROAD NEW OPTIONS IN URBAN EMISSION CONTROLS
As part of a comprehensive strategy to address urban air pollution, the 1990 Clean Air Act Amendments required in larger urban areas that 1993 and earlier model year urban buses utilize, if available, certified retrofit/rebuild technologies to substantially reduce particulate emissions. This program has spurred development of new, more efficient emissions control systems. The article looks at six of the most promising of these systems.
