SCALED MEMORY MODEL FOR UNDRAINED BEHAVIOR OF ANISOTROPIC CLAYS

The author presents a constitutive model to describe the undrained behavior of anisotropic clays subjected to generalized loadings. The model is based on the concept of scaled memory, with capabilities that were previously established for one-dimensional cyclic responses extended to six-dimensional monotonic loadings. Scaled memory is simpler than multiyield surface plasticity and just as suitable for modeling anisotropic behavior. A simulation of the stress-strain responses of consolidated clays during the combined triaxial-torsional tests illustrates the capabilities of the scaled memory model.
