PUBLIC/PRIVATE PARTNERSHIPS AND ADVANCED PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS FOR AN EMPLOYMENT CENTER/RAIL TRANSIT CIRCULATOR

This paper summarizes a study prepared on behalf of the El Segundo Employers Association (ESEA) with financial support from the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) to identify ways in which transit services linking the El Segundo employment area to the planned Green Line rail stations could best be coordinated. The Metro Green Line is currently under construction in the median of the I-105 Freeway, extending from Norwalk to El Segundo area, a highly concentrated employment area just south of LAX Airport. The Green Line Circulator Study was completed under an accelerated four-month time schedule so that shuttle services would be in place upon opening of the Green Line.
