TRAFFIC IMPACT AND CIRCULATION ANALYSIS: THE CINCH, PASSER AND TRANSYT-7F PARADIGM

This paper introduces the hybrid analysis procedure whereby several traffic software packages are used in tandem to plan network and/or arterial traffic controls, or design system timing optimization, or assess the operations of an existing street network. The paper includes an introduction of the relationship between impact analysis and intersection operations, a general search of the literature, a description of the principal programs for intersection design and operational analysis, and a paradigmatization of the hybrid procedure of traffic impact and circulation analysis in an areawide network.
