EFFECTS OF AN EXCLUSIVE BUS LANE FOR THE OVERSATURATED FREEWAY IN KOREA
This study provides the opportunity to evaluate the operation of the exclusive bus lanes (XBL) in the interregional freeway from Seoul to Sintanjin (Korea). This paper comments on the analysis process used to assess the travel time impacts of exclusive bus lane and to examine overall effectiveness of the XBL for the oversaturated freeway. This study is structured to examine the same location before and after the implementation of the exclusive bus lane. Improvements in bus and passenger car performances due to the introduction of with-flow bus lane are evaluated in terms of savings in total travel time and other measures.
