COMPUTER ANALYSIS AND FULL-SCALE TEST OF THE ULTIMATE CAPACITY OF A PRECAST SEGMENTAL BOX GIRDER BRIDGE WITH DRY JOINTS AND EXTERNAL TENDONS

The objective of this paper is to compare the ultimate capacity of a full-scale precast segmental box girder bridge with dry joints and external tendons to the capacity generated by computer analysis and predicted by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials Standard Specifications. In addition to the ultimate capacity, characteristics such as deflection, joint openings, and tendon strains are examined. The test results and the computer analysis are presented.
