IMPLANT, INTERACTIVE MODEL FOR PLANNING LAND USE AND TRANSPORT

IMPLANT, INTERACTIVE MODEL FOR PLANNING LAND USE AND TRANSPORT, DEFINITIESTUDIE

This report describes the development of a research strategy for an integrated Landuse-Transport Interaction model. The project focuses on three interrelated issues: the research needs, the development stategy and the input and output of the model. For the research needs interviews were held with persons attaching great value to the development of an integrated Land use-Transport Interaction model. This model should take the two-way causation betweeen land use and transport into account. For the development strategy two strategies are considered. The first aims at developing an instrument by integrating a large number of assisting sector-based models. The second strategy concerns building a new instrument. The input and output model uses multilevel data from existing sources. The first focus is on regional/urban scale. Larger urban areas are split in homogeneus zones. A user-friendly interface is built, allowing users to define planning policies and obtain results from tables, maps and figures.
