This paper describes an analysis program system which was developed for the transverse strength of ships in order to estimate precisely wave loads and the strength of ship structure. This system consists of many programs for ship motion analyses, using strip method, structural analysis of the ship structure, and statistical analysis of ship responses. The characteristic of this system is that longitudinal and transverse strength of ships can be analysed simultaneously. For the analysis of the transverse strength, the Superelement Method is used in order to reduce input data and calculation time. An outline of this system and examples of the calculation of the double bottom structure of a bulk carrier are presented.
