A STUDY ON THE MANOEUVRABILITY OF A HIGH-SPEED BOAT

In this paper, estimation methods for manoeuvring characteristics are discussed from test results of 3 types of small high speed boats. To obtain the manoeuvrability of a high speed boat, fundamental manoeuvring motion tests such as speed trials with an extensive variation in engine revolution, turning and zigzag motion tests are carried out. The mathematical model proposed is simple, and expresses the manoeuvring characteristics of small high speed boats very accurately.
