THE COMPUTERIZATION OF THE INFORMATION FLOW IN SHIP REPAIR

In the ship repair business an efficient information flow is essential due to the normally very limited time available for the different phases of the repair order cycle from receiving the ship owner's inquiry to delivery of the repaired vessel. The paper describes the phases in ship repair and the information flow within and between these phases. It also describes how computer applications can be used to improve the creation, handling, and availability of information.
