MARINE REFRIGERANTS, THE FUTURE

From the 1st January 1995, EU regulations called for the end of production and importation of chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) which have been blamed for a significant percentage of global warming. The phasing out of CFCs worldwide will mean changes in refrigerated cargo ships and refrigerated containers, some of which employ CFC refrigerants. This article looks at alternative marine refrigerants.
